Has anyone created a floor plan for exactly where (eventually) we would like to have the various kitchen equipment? What part of that back area will be kitchen, what part will be storage, and what part will be anything else? Where exactly the hospitality area will be in the sanctuary? (Not just "northeast corner," but how many feet out from the walls in each direction. Will it be a rectangle, or a triangle, or an arc? etc.)
Sean said something about codes & kitchen walls in his 3D rendering thread. Could someone explain more about that? Are we hoping to eventually wall off the entire kitchen area? (That was my original assumption.)

Apparently there are some possible code issues that could effect what we can do in the kitchen. The engineer that walked the space with Steve brought up that it might be held to commercial kitchen code because of its nature, so proposed treating it as a warming kitchen, which would mean no stove.
Steve then had a conversation with the architect of the college and was encouraged to communicate with the village about what they would allow. The person from the village said that as long as we weren't operating an establishment like a coffee house during the week we were ok and would not be held to commercial codes.
Steve also mentioned that they started talking about the hoods if we had a stove in there ans that seemed to open up a can, so he stopped the discussion on that topic.
Steve, please amend anything I may have omitted or colored.
In terms of leaving the kitchen area open or enclosed- we could run into an issue with HVAC because whenever a space that was setup with HVAC is augmented, it needs to be looked at in terms of supply from and return to the unit. Each room needs to have proper supply and return, so if we close off an area that does not have either in the proper amount it becomes an issue. Also, if the area that was closed off was formerly significant in supply or return for the larger space then you are choking off the larger space...
