Maybe while Leslie is asking the landlord about limiting access to the west cubicle area and moving the vending machines, she could also ask:
Exactly what janitorial services does the landlord provide, where, and how often? Can we just do what we want to the rooms we're not actually paying to rent, as if we are paying to rent them? (Specifically, removing the metal partition, carpeting, painting, changing light fixtures, fixing doors) Is there a process for us to go through to get the doors fixed that are onto common areas or shared with other renters? May we carpet the hallway? How can we turn off the circuit breakers to particular rooms so we can change light fixtures?
What is the situation for having mail/packages shipped to the church (at the new space) after Aug 1? Does someone have to be there to receive them, or is there a way mail/packages can be left if no one is there? I think at our current space there is a way for mail & packages to be left.
What are the procedures for garbage/recycling?

I just wanted to follow up with everyone and let you know I have a meeting with Tony from Wheaton College tomorrow afternoon (Wed 7/29). Please pray for me to have and convey the right words, spirit, and motives in my discussions with him about what we want to do in the building and what we would like from them.

I met with Tony yesterday. He asked me to send him a list of all of our concerns, requests, and questions, and he will forward to Risk Management and Facilities Management accordingly, and he will look into some things that don't fall under those departments. He was agreeable to getting the electrical working and fixing doors and doing whatever possible to prevent children from accessing other tenants' spaces. He said their head of Risk Management is an "expert" in dealing with asbestos. Tony agreed that the building should be safe for tenants and that is the landlord's responsibility to make it safe. Here is the link for the list I will submit: Questions and Concerns for Wheaton College I will be emailing this to Tony at 5:00pm today. If you can review this list beforehand and reply to this post by 4:00pm with any additions you'd like me to make, I can probably do that. I'd like to include all the items we're aware of to date, in this one list.

Here are my questions:
Can we remove wallpaper and paint front entry?
-What do we have to do for paint approval?
Can we paint main corridor? -What do we have to do for paint approval?
The Radiator in the SE corner of sanctuary by the kitchen and that back closet is very loud. It will disrupt the service. The noise is even louder in the closet across the hall. Will thwey please fix it?
Because of the Asbestos dust from screwing into the floor, will they please remove the partitions from the kids room? I was going to today, but then got your message so focused on the stage.

As I think about signage, I thought of this... Do we need permission to place signs on the walls in the common areas? Or do we have permission? I can't remember if this has been addressed and I don't want to take any chances.

The answers on both indoor and outdoor signage are coming, Lauren. Thanks for asking. I think I remember seeing somewhere that if the signs look nice enough they can be left up, but of course we need more specifics than that! I'll let you know when I hear back from Tony.
