So here are a few depictions of our facility based on Steve’s “west wall stage” concepts. My thinking is to establish a base room that we can then make broad changes to as we try to find our look. Also, as in looking at some of the recent comments, it's important to note that this is the max seating arrangement, which is good to note as we grow. But my guess is that we we have about half of the chairs in this room right? If we're concerned about a welcome area we just get rid of chairs. I may do that in future passes to see how much that opens the space up.

1. The above images are Stage 1. I’m calling this room: vanilla. It’s about as plain as we could have it. This is the bare necessity of what would need to happen before we move in. So we have to get carpet. We don’t have to paint the walls. We might want to move/build the stage because, in my opinion, that will be cheaper in the long term to do now if we’re going to do it at all. We do not need lights other than the florescent bulbs that are there already. Note: the room seemed to have a yellow/green cast to it (especially behind where the current stage is). Some of this may be because of the florescent lighting mixed with the tungsten spotlight type bulbs. I would suggest picking one lighting or the other if we can. That way we’re not mixing color temperatures. Anywho, I tried to represent that yellow/green cast in these renderings because that will affect the colors of paint and furniture.
2. Stage 2, or the next round of these images, would be painted walls. So I will develop some color palettes and apply color to the walls and then we can all see what that looks like. Feel free to post pictures or color palettes you’ve been thinking about. I will say, it would be nice if the colors complimented our tan/orange/red palette. When I say compliment that does not mean the only colors are tan, orange, and red.
3. Stage 3, the round of images after that, would be lighting. So maybe trying to dim the florescent lighting and seeing how stage lights make an impact.
We can keep going through stages. Curtains or ND film on the windows, Café signage, raising the speakers off the floor, 2 projectors…the idea is that we have visual depictions of our facility at different pricing points. We may want a stage 6 concept, but know we can only afford a stage 2 right now. At least we will have an idea of what we can do now and where we want to go with the space in the future.
This is the west wall concept, which I like the most so far because the stage is large and in charge. However, I can rearrange the chairs and create the North or the Southeast corner stage just as well if enough people want to see that.
Lastly, if you don’t see this particularly helpful at this stage I will wait till decisions have been made and create a final for presentation purposes.
