There are a few issues with the small rooms off the hall that will have to be addressed if we are going to use them for kids.
Metal partition bolted to floor -- This will have to be removed. Removal is complicated by the fact that the floor is likely asbestos tile. Taking out the bolts might stir up asbestos dust or further fracture the tiles.
Overhead lights don't work -- I have no idea what it will take to fix this.
Doors into other parts of the building -- At a minimum we need to add locks to these doors. It is my understanding that at least one of the doors also has holes in it that mean the entire doir will need replaced.
Flooring -- If the tiles are asbestos we have to encapsulate and cover them. My research indicates it can be difficult to tack down carpet to asbestos tile floors. I am interested in what our options are for this.

On the overhead lights, are we sure it isn't just the lights? Do we know it is something more significant?

We are guessing that it is more than just burned out bulbs, because the lights in both rooms do not work. However, that is one of the things we are going to try to check when we go to the space on Friday. If anyone knows what type of light it is, I can bring the right kind of bulb to test. Otherwise, I will find out the bulb type on Friday and test another time.
